POS Systems Analyst
 
Summary of Job Scope and Expectations:
 
The POS Systems Analyst participates in the development and implementation of POS features and applications to support Operations.  This position assists in maintenance of POS system configurations and system images.  The POS Systems Analyst troubleshoots POS problems by telephone, email, or in person and resolves the issues or refers them to other POS team members for resolution.
 
Essential Functions:
The essential functions in this job description are not all-inclusive of this job’s duties and responsibilities.  Reliable and dependable attendance is required.
 
  • Participates in the development and implementation of POS features and applications to support Operations and maintenance of POS system configurations and system images. 
  • Troubleshoots POS problems by telephone, email or in person and resolves the issues or refers them to other POS team members for resolution.
  • Assists in the development, testing, and release of POS program changes and new POS system features.
  • Participates in optimizing IS processes to ensure effective and efficient POS implementation and performance. 
  • Stages POS equipment for new and existing stores and ensures POS systems are functioning so as not to affect store operations.
  • Assists in training programs for Technical Support associates and for Operations associates to enhance their knowledge of the POS systems.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IS or related field or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum three years of IS experience, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of POS systems
  • Familiarity with SQL database
  • Knowledge of Xpient software preferred
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software
  • Understanding of the business
  • Communication (oral and written), listening, and customer service skills
  • Analytical, assessment, and critical thinking skills
  • Time management, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Strong computer/technology skills and highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to assist in projects
  • Ability to solve problems independently
  • Ability to talk and share before a group
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
  • Ability to follow directions and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work positively with other departments and Operations (“win/win”)
  • Demonstrates proactive behavior
  • Ability to embrace change and continuous learning
